“Rallying is life. Gravel is home.”

About Sanni

Sanni Koskela teaches primary school in Jyväskylä, Finland. Her mornings are spent in the classroom. Afternoons and evenings often involve cross-country skiing, an activity she pursues competitively in the Masters class during the winter months. Her home is near Ouninpohja, a stage she has known for decades.

Rally Finland's service park was a familiar place during her childhood summers. The sound of anti-lag systems and the smell of race fuel were part of the season. She has followed the World Rally Championship for 15 years, understanding the sport from the perspective of its primary surface: gravel. The Tarmac and snow events remain the exceptions.

When Kalle Rovanperä stepped back from a full WRC programme, most of the coverage outside Finland read it as walking away from the sport. That was incorrect. He is a Finnish driver. Rallying is a deeply ingrained part of life here. It was a strategic decision for a young driver to manage the demands of competition. It reflected a local understanding of the sport's pressures.

How Sanni Judges What She Covers

Driver performance is judged on stage times, not on championship standings alone. Vehicle reliability is tracked through retirement data and service park commentary, not from manufacturer press releases. Team strategy is inferred from tire choices, pace notes changes, and split times. Opinions are formed on verifiable data, not on media speculation. Weather conditions, road positions, and car setup changes are primary factors in assessing relative performance. Comparisons across different events or seasons are made only when conditions are directly comparable. Unsubstantiated rumors are not included. Claims are presented as such unless confirmed by a team or driver statement.

Editorial Standards And Contact

Sanni Koskela works to the rules set out in the editorial policy: every story cites the newsroom that reported it, nothing is published from a single unnamed source, and each piece carries a Confirmed, Reported or Analysis label decided from the source wording rather than chosen for effect.

Corrections and questions go to editor@kmsracing.net or through the contact page. A correction is made in the dataset the page is generated from, so it cannot reappear on the next rebuild.
