Editorial Policy
These are the rules this site publishes under. They are enforced in the build, not just stated here — several of them exist because an earlier version of the site broke them and the output was thrown away.
Sourcing
- Every story cites a newsroom, by name and by linkSources are listed at the foot of each article with a link to the newsroom's own page. An aggregator is not a source: stories found through a news aggregator are only published once a newsroom's own page can be cited, because an aggregator link cannot be checked by a reader.
- Up to four newsrooms are read per storyWhere several outlets covered the same development, up to four are read in full and each is credited. Coverage is clustered so one story becomes one article, not five near-duplicates.
- Nothing is published from a single unnamed sourceIf a development cannot be attributed, it is not published.
- Quotations are never attributed unless they appear in the sourceA quotation is only carried when that exact wording is in the cited text.
What May Be Stated As Fact
Every story carries one of three labels, decided from the source wording rather than chosen for effect: Confirmed when the people involved have said it on the record, Reported when a newsroom we cite carries it but the people involved have not confirmed it, and Analysis when we are reading established facts. A Reported story says in its own text that it is unconfirmed — the label alone is not considered sufficient.
Numbers are not estimated. Career totals are given as what the record lists rather than as a rounded total, because a partial table summarised into a confident figure is worse than no figure. Where a dataset does not hold something, the page omits it.
Dates, Times And Staleness
All times are given in Finnish time first, converted with the Europe/Helsinki zone rather than a fixed offset — six 2026 rounds fall in EET and one straddles the October changeover, so a fixed offset is wrong for seven of twenty-three rounds. The reader's own local clock is added beside the Finnish time where JavaScript is available, never in place of it.
The build refuses to publish an article that describes a past season as the current or upcoming one. This is enforced by a check, because it is the most common way a motorsport page rots while still ranking.
Corrections
Corrections are made on the article itself and noted there, not made silently and not left in a separate log. If something here is wrong, say so through the contact page and it will be fixed at source, which means in the dataset the page is generated from, so it cannot reappear.
Independence
No newsroom cited here pays for coverage and no coverage decision is sold. Where a page links out, it links to the source of a fact or to a governing body — links are not placed for payment.
Automation, Stated Plainly
Articles are drafted by an automated newsroom against a fixed brief and published under the name of the writer who owns that beat. Every article is grounded in the sources it cites, is checked against a measured length and style band before publication, and is discarded rather than published if it cannot meet those checks without inventing detail.
About the bylines specifically: the writers are editorial personas created for this site. Each name and portrait is used here and on no other domain; none of them carries a social profile, because an absent handle is normal and a dead or mismatched one is a worse signal than none; and no follower, subscriber or audience figure appears on any of their pages, because those numbers are not checkable. What their pages do carry is the beat they own, how they judge it, and counts of work. Accountability for everything published sits with the site owner, not with a persona — see the contact page.
