About KMS Racing

KMS Racing is a motorsport site written in English for people who follow the sport from Finland, or who follow the Finns. That is a narrower brief than "motorsport news", and it is deliberate.

Why This Site Exists

Before building anything we measured the pages that currently rank for the queries this site targets — the hubs, the calendar, the results archive, the fantasy guide, the driver profiles and the per-round pages. The same gap showed up on every one of them. Not one of the pages ranking for Grand Prix start times gives a Finnish reader the time in Helsinki. Not one of the driver pages ranking for Finnish drivers' names is written for a Finnish audience. On the per-round page type, all four competitors we measured scored exactly zero on any Finnish reference at all.

So the site is built to fill that: Finnish times first with the circuit clock beside them, Finnish broadcast information, and where the Finns actually finished — alongside full coverage of the championships themselves, because a Finnish angle is worthless if the underlying record is thin.

What We Cover

How The Site Is Built

Every page here is generated from a dataset by a script that can be re-run, not hand-edited. That matters for two reasons. It means a figure appears in one place and updates everywhere, and it means a page cannot quietly go stale while still ranking — which is precisely what we found on competitors, including a fantasy guide holding sixth place with the previous season's prices still in it.

The datasets behind the site are listed below with their sources. Nothing on this site is estimated: where a record does not carry a figure, the page omits the section rather than filling it.

Who Writes It

Each beat has one writer, and their name is on every piece they file: Eero Lahtinen on Formula 1, Sanni Koskela on rallying, Miika Rantanen on the junior ladder and Aino Virtanen on the Finnish drivers. Each has a page setting out who they are, what they cover and how they judge it, because a byline you cannot follow to a person is not really a byline.

Stated plainly, because it matters more than the byline: the drafting is automated. Copy is generated against a fixed brief from the sources each piece cites, checked against a measured length and style band, and discarded rather than published if it cannot meet those checks without inventing detail. The writers are editorial personas for this site — the names and portraits appear here and on no other domain, they carry no social profiles because a dead or mismatched one would be worse than none, and no audience figures are claimed anywhere. Editorial responsibility sits with the site owner, reachable through the contact page.

The rules that work applies — minimum sourcing, what may be stated as fact, how corrections are handled — are in the editorial policy.
