Bättig's ascent through Red Bull Junior Team

Bättig's Motorsport Trajectory

Chiara Bättig has recently garnered attention for her strong performances in single-seater racing, which includes a pole position and a second-place finish in her F1 Academy wildcard debut at Silverstone. The Swiss competitor’s motorsport journey began with karting, where she honed a naturally competitive spirit evident across various sports before settling on racing, according to the Feeder Series Podcast. Bättig secured three consecutive Swiss Karting Championship titles in the OK-Junior class from 2022 to 2024 and achieved second place in the Champions of the Future Academy Program's OK-N class in 2025, demonstrating her karting prowess.

Transition to Single-Seaters

The transition from karting to single-seaters presented a learning curve, primarily due to the differing track time available in each discipline. Bättig noted to the Feeder Series Podcast that single-seater sessions, despite lasting an hour, provide fewer laps than the continuous running possible in karting. Her initial opportunity in an F4 car arose during the Red Bull Junior Team's driver search in Estoril in August of the previous year. This event proved pivotal, leading to her recruitment into the development program that has provided substantial support throughout her career, as she explained to the Feeder Series Podcast. Bättig described the Red Bull Junior Team’s support as “mega,” highlighting its significance for her development.

Early F4 Successes

Bättig initiated her competitive single-seater campaign in F4 Saudi Arabia, followed by participation in the Formula Winter Series. Her highest placement in the latter was a second-place finish at Estoril, which occurred less than six months after her Red Bull test at the same circuit. These early F4 endeavors laid a solid foundation for her current British F4 season, where she presently holds 15th position with 51 points. This progress underscores the effectiveness of her Red Bull Junior Team backing and her adaptable skill set.
